When you join R.O.O.T.S. & B.O.O.T.S. NFP, you are assigned a permanent member number in the format RB-00001. It appears in your account dashboard and serves as a lasting identifier in our growing community of lineage researchers.

How many research sessions do I get, and what happens when I run out?
Roots Explorer members receive 4 complimentary sessions per year (1 per quarter). Lineage Keeper members receive 8 sessions (2 per quarter). Heritage Builder members contribute individually at $20 per session with no cap. If you exhaust your quarterly allocation, you can book additional as-you-go sessions or upgrade your membership tier at any point during the year.
What is the cancellation and reschedule policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session without penalty. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may result in forfeiture of that session slot. To request a change, use the Contact page or the reschedule link in your confirmation email. We understand life happens and will do our best to accommodate urgent situations.
What exactly happens during a genealogy session?
Each session is a focused one-on-one meeting with an experienced researcher. Together you review your existing family records, identify gaps in documentation, and map a research strategy. Sessions cover navigating archives, interpreting historical documents, cross-referencing census and vital records, and addressing inaccuracies tied to pre-1865 American lineage. You leave each session with concrete next steps and documented findings.
